About the Event:
As Americans nationwide celebrate Food Day on Oct. 24, 2011, STOP Foodborne Illness, the exclusive safe-food advocate of Food Day, will mark the occasion in Chicago by inviting the public to spin the Food Safety Trivia Wheel at the base of the John Hancock Center at 875 N. Michigan from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Guests who visit the Food Safety Trivia Wheel earn a chance to take a spin after answering a trivia question about safe food. Prizes will include food safety items such as hand sanitizer, meat thermometers, cooking timers and storage containers, as well as a chance to win a year’s worth of free pasteurized eggs from Davidson’s Eggs. Other prize sponsors include Eat Cleaners, Rubbermaid, Uncommon Ground, Thermos Brand and the Palmer House Hilton. Local government officials, business executives and Chicago chefs have been invited to spin the Food Safety Trivia Wheel, including Mayor Rahm Emmanuel, former Mayor Richard Daley, Green City market representatives and the founders of Grub Hub and OpenTable.
