US/Four Recalls: Ground Beef (OR, UT, WA); Meat Products with Salami & Pepperoni (Nationwide); Raw Frozen Turkey Dog Food (20 States); Kitten Grind Pet Food (GA, NC, SC, TN, TX)

Reason for Recall: E. coli O157:H7
Company: Interstate Meat Distributors Inc. of Clackamas, OR

Details: Media and consumers with questions regarding the recall can contact Interstate Meat Distributors, Inc., at (503) 656-0633. The recalled meat products were produced and packaged on Feb. 10 and 12. They have the establishment number “965” printed inside the USDA inspection mark on the labels.

There is concern consumers may have unused portions of the recalled ground meat in their homes. To identify the recalled products, consumers should look for the following information on ground meat packages from Interstate Meat Distributors:

    • 2.25-lb. wrapped packages of fresh “ALL NATURAL EXTRA LEAN GROUND BEEF” containing package code 04118 and with 96% lean and 4% fat on the label.
    • 2.25-lb. wrapped packages of fresh “ALL NATURAL GROUND BEEF CHUCK” containing package code 04118 and with 80% lean and 20% fat on the label.
    • 2.25-lb. wrapped packages of fresh “GROUND BEEF AND PORK BLEND” containing package code 04118 and with 80% lean and 20% fat on the label.
    • 2.50-lb. bag containing 10 quarter pound frozen “BROTHERS CHOICE 85% LEAN ANGUS GROUND BEEF PATTIES” containing package code 04318.

Reason for Recall: Listeria
Company: Olli Salumeria Americana of Oceanside, CA
Product: Meat products including salami and pepperoni (See Below)

Details: No information on best-by or sell-by dates was included in the recall notice. Photos of product labels posts with the notice did not show any date codes.

The recalled products have the establishment number “M-45334” printed inside the USDA mark of inspection on their wrappers. Consumers can identify the recalled meat products by looking for the following product names, package weights and lot numbers.

  •  6 oz. packages of “Gusto Napoli Applewood-Smoked Salame” with the lot code 1000012821
  • 6 oz. packages of “Gusto Chorizo Smoked Paprika” with the lot code 1000012812
  • 6 oz. packages of “Gusto Sopressata Black Peppercorn Salame” with the lot code 1000012811
  • 6 oz. packages of “Gusto Toscano Fennel Pollen Salame” with the lot code 1000012805
  • 6 oz. packages of “Gusto Pepperoni Classically American” with the lot code 1000012804
  • 175-gram packages of “Olli Napoli Applewood-Smoked Salami” with the lot code 1000012810; and
  • 175-gram packages of “Olli Calabrese Spicy Salami” with the lot code 1000012807

Reason for Recall: Salmonella

Product: 5lb Raw Frozen Dog Food Turkey Canine Recipe

Details: Consumers are encouraged to check the lot code of any 5lb frozen turkey nuggets. Any product with the noted lot code should be returned to the specialty retailer where product was purchased for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact Steve’s Real Food at 888-526-1900, Monday – Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm MTN.

The potentially affected lot of 5lb. frozen turkey nuggets were distributed to retail pet food stores. Fifty two cases of this product was distributed between 6/27/17 – 7/15/17.

The affected product was sold frozen in 5lb bags. Those bags affected by this recall are identified with the following UPC codes and the “Best by” date located on the bag.

Product: Kitten Grind raw pet food

Details: Consumers are encouraged to check the clips of product to ensure that they possess the affected lot#GA1102. Those who have purchased the above lot of Kitten Grind are urged to stop feeding them and return products to the place of purchase for a full refund or dispose of them immediately. Those with questions can email the company at blueridgebeefga@yahoo.com. The affected product is sold in two pound chubs that are frozen and are distinguished by the manufacturing codes:
