Reason for Recall: Listeria monocytogenes

Company: Columbia River Natural Pet Foods of Vancouver, WA
Product: Cow Pie brand fresh frozen meats for dogs and cats

Details: Consumers who have purchased 2 lbs. packages of Cow Pie, with the affected lot 81917, should discontinue use of the product and may return the unused portion to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-360-834-6854, Monday-Friday, from 8 am-4 pm PST.

Cow Pie is a fresh frozen meats product intended to feed raw to dogs and cats. Cow Pie was distributed in Alaska, Oregon, and Washington through retail stores and direct delivery. The product comes frozen in 2 lbs. purple and white plastic bags, with Lot 81917 (processed on August 19, 2017) found on an orange sticker.

Reason for Recall: Salmonella

For the third time since Oct. 4, is expanding its beef recall, bringing the total to more than 12 million pounds. The beef is associated with a Salmonella outbreak that has sickened almost 250 people since August. JBS Tolleson, Inc., a Tolleson, Ariz. establishment, is recalling approximately 12,093,271 pounds of non-intact raw beef products that may be contaminated with Salmonella Newport, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

Reason for Recall: Elevated Levels of Vitamin D

All Bags in the recall are yellow with the Elm Pet Foods Tag on the front of the bag and have a silhouette of a chicken at the bottom of the front side of the bag. Consumers can check the lot codes on the back of the bag at the bottom center on the 3lb bags and in the center of the back of the bag on the 28lb bags. The 40lb bag lot numbers can be found on the bottom right of the back of the bag.

The recalled products consist of multiple UPC codes manufactured between February 25, 2018 and October 31, 2018. Best Buy Dates Listed Below:
