Quaker Oats Recalls Cap’n Crunch from Target for Salmonella (US/NE, MO, KS) + Green Cedar brand Ackawi Cheese for Listeria (US/MI)

Reason for Recall: Salmonella

Company: The Quaker Oats Co., a subsidiary of PepsiCo Inc.
Product: Cap’n Crunch’s Peanut Butter Crunch cereal from Target stores

Details: Consumers who have purchased the cereal are advised not to consume it, and urged to dispose of or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. The public can call 800-234-6281 or find more information at cu.pepsico.com/capncrunch.

Quaker Oats distributed the recalled cereal to the five Target stores listed below. This recall only includes 21 outstanding boxes purchased after Nov 5. The 17.1-ounce boxes of Cap’n Crunch’s Peanut Butter Crunch cereal with UPC number 0 30000 6211 1 and “Best Before Dates of JUL 30 19 or JUL 31 19” were purchased at the following Target stores:

Reason for Recall: Listeria

Company: Green Cedar Dairy, Dearborn, MI
Product: Green Cedar brand Ackawi cheese

Details: Consumers with questions regarding the recall can contact Hussam Harb, plant manager at Green Cedar Dairy, at 313-584-4499. The recalled Green Cedar Ackawi cheese is sold in small clear plastic shrink wrapped packaging. The “sell by” date of March 26, 2019, is on a white sticker on the back of the packaging.
